STB Hosts Luncheon for Miss Tourism International 2022 Contestants
KUCHING, 16th November 2022 – Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) today welcomed 40 international beauty queens participating in the 25th Miss Tourism International 2022 World Final at Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV).
During a brief luncheon, the beauty queens got to taste a variety of Sarawak traditional cuisine such as ayam pansuh, pounded tapioca leaves and fish stewed in terung assam (Dayak eggplant). They later visited all the traditional houses at SCV before being entertained with a cultural performance.
Miss Uganda, Sydney Nabulya Kavuma, expressed her admiration of Sarawak hospitality by the locals who she said treated her like their own, making her feel very much at home.
“The (Sarawak) hospitality is at its best, the view is so magnificent and the river cruise was unbelievable, so I invite everyone to come and experience Sarawak because there is so much more to discover,” she added.
The 25th Miss Tourism International World Final 2022 is currently ongoing until 27th November 2022 and the highlight of the event is the ‘Coronation Night’ on November 25th 2022.
Themed “Promoting Tourism, Culture and Friendship”, the pageant gathers delegates from 40 countries and engaged in promotional visits to many tourist attractions around Kuching, Bau and Lundu.
