Kuching chosen for the 10th Asian Bird Fair

Kuching has been chosen to host the 10th Asian Bird Fair 2019,

This is an annual event created to highlight the different bird species in Asia and to promote the protection of birds and their habitats, encourage bird watching and other ecotourism activities.

Sarawak has the most number of Important Bird Areas (IBA) in Malaysia, with over 600,000 hectares of totally protected areas and a great portion of the 650 endemic Bornean bird species are found here.

Meanwhile, Sarawak delegates comprising representatives from the Sarawak Tourism Board, Sarawak Convention Bureau and the Kuching Bird Watching Club will  attend the 9th Asian Bird Fair to be held in Chiayi, Taiwan  on November 16-20.

Visit the Sarawak booth located number 38 and 39 at the fair to update yourself on birding opportunities in Sarawak and to obtain more information about the State.
