The second edition of the Kuching Ultra Marathon is being held on March 3-4 this year with a new route and two additional categories.
The new route stretches from M Hotel in Kuching City to Petra Jaya and onwards to Damai Beach, crossing the Sarawak River using TunSalahuddin Bridge.
The categories for this year are 30km, 50km, 70km and 100km, all participants of every category receiving an event shirt and finishers medal with the addition of a finisher’s shirt for runners in the 50km and over categories.
A total of 142 runners participated in last year’s race, including some from Ireland, japan, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong and Brunei.
Indah House Kuching, located off of Carpenter Street at Kuching’s epicentre, provides opportunities for visitors to learn how to prepare local delicacies just as the locals do.
Starting with a visit to the local farmers’ market, visitors will learn about Sarawak jungle produce and speak to the farmers, before selecting the ingredients for their cooking class to be prepared, cooked and eaten together.
The styles and cultures of the food include Sarawak Malay, Dayak and Chinese, with some vegan and vegetarian recipe options as well.
The class will take approximately three and a half hours, excluding eating time, and registration has a minimum requirement of two pax for RM180.
The Enchanting Musical Evening featuring the Yap’s family will be held on February 19th at the Old Courthouse Auditorium at in Kuching at 7:30 p.m.
The talented Yap’s sibling and their families will be holding the concert featuring Yap Ling, Yap Yen, Yap Ting, Yap Ning, Grace Lee, Yap Qin, Yap Yi and Yap Meer with special guest pianist Eugene Clifford Roland Suboh in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebrations.
The concert gives the Yap’s family a chance to collaborate together and to share with the public their love for music, and although they are all performers, this is the first time they will come together and perform a concert as one unit.
The programme offers musical repertoire for all audiences who appreciate traditional Chinese music.
